The farm house is in Castagneto Carducci, in the province of Livorno.
It is 1,8 miles far from the sea, with a wide beach, a Club Med on one side and a renowned Beauty Farm on the other.
This area is characterized by all the typical features of Tuscany: sea, hills, countryside, agricultural and gastronomic products, culture.
From a geographical point of view, this strip of land still belongs to Maremma plane, but the rough and wild landscape of Maremma is gradually substituted by a more gentle and variegated one. On the whole region you can perceive the fascination of the old days and the old culture of Tuscany: from the mysterious and discreet presence of the Etruscans to the deeds of Medieval personages; from the life vicissitudes of Renaissance noble families to Carducci's poetry.
Castagneto Carducci is a small village, situated on the summit of a hill.
In past times, Castagneto Carducci was called Castagneto Della Gherardesca, from the name of the oldest Italian family, whose origins go back to the Barbarian invasions. The present name "Castagneto Carducci" was given in 1907 to celebrate the poet Giosuè Carducci who lived in Castagneto and who always loved it.

Thanks to its central position, as you can see in the map on the left, Castagneto Carducci is only one hour far from the most important cities of Tuscany, as Florence, Siena, Forte dei Marmi, etc.
